The 2 phase disc stack separator is used to separate the fine particles from the liquid and discharge clarified liquid. Compared with decanter centrifuge, the G force of 2 phase disc stack separator is much higher than decanter centrifuge. The disc stack separator G force is up 12000g. Generally, the G force of the decanter centrifuge is about 3000G. The high speed and G force makes the disc stack separator to produce high clarified liquid. However, the materials separated by disc separator should not have high solid content or big particles. Usually the particles content should be less than 3%, it's better to be 1%. Therefore, in some application, pre-treatment will be carried out by decanter centrifuge or other separation equipment, and then clarification and separation will be carried out in the 2 phase disc stack separator. The 2 phase disc stack separator is widely used in vegetable oil clarification, biological and chemical pharmaceutical industry, dairy and beverage industry, biofuel and marine oil clarification, etc.
 

3 Phase Disc Stack Centrifuge  

 

3 phase disc stack separator is a high-speed, stable, sealed, efficient, and automatic slag discharge 3 phase separation equipment. It is widely used for liquid, liquid, solid 3-phase separation or liquid-liquid separation. The 2-phase solid-liquid separation disc separator has only one liquid discharge port and one slag discharge port, while the 3-phase disc separator has two liquid discharge ports and one slag discharge port, which can separate two liquids with different specific gravity at the same time. It can also discharge solid phase materials. Compared with the 3 phase decanter centrifuge, the 3 phase disc separator has larger rotation speed and G force. The 3 phase decanter centrifuge usually has a separation factor of about 3000G, while the 3 phase disc stack separator G force is up to 12000G. Therefore, the 3 phase disc separator can more thoroughly separate liquids with different specific gravity and the liquid phase discharged is more clarified. However, compared to 3 phase decanter centrifuges, 3 phase disc separator is more used to separate materials containing fine particles, with less solids content. So before entering the 3 phase disc separator, the material can separated by the decanter centrifuge for pre-stage separation to reduce the solids content and remove big particles.

On the one hand, the cells can be collected for subsequent research (such as cell metabolism studies), and on the other hand, the supernatant can be further processed to extract penicillin.
Environmental Microbiology: Disc centrifuges can help separate microbial cells from wastewater or contaminated environmental samples. Researchers can understand the pollution level and microbial community structure of wastewater by analyzing these microbial cells. For example, in sewage treatment plants, disc centrifuges can be used to separate microbial cells from activated sludge for monitoring and optimizing the sewage treatment process.
